Who should read this?

This guide is for anyone on your team involved in setting up a new POS and/or managing post-switch operations.

Before Disconnecting Your Old POS

  1. Sales Audit We’ll review the past 90 days of sales data from your old POS to ensure accuracy.
  2. Labor We’ll check if your current system tracks labor. If switching to Toast, we’ll provide information on setting up Custom Overtime Rules. Remember to set up labor mapping in the new system.
  3. PMIX We’ll check if you use PMIX mapping. If so, you’ll need to remap it in the new system.
  4. Sales Export Export all sales data from the old POS before the switch. We’ll verify your credit card fees are up to date (if applicable) and confirm all sales journals for the past 90 days have been exported.

Connecting Your New POS

What our team handles:

  • Sales Data Transfer — We’ll retrieve sales data from the new POS
  • Sales Reconciliation — We’ll balance the sales data from the new POS
  • PMIX Verification — We’ll ensure PMIX data is transferring correctly
  • Labor Data Check — If you track labor, we’ll confirm data is flowing properly
  • Category Setup — We’ll add Category Types for the new POS on the Sales Mapping page

What you’ll need to do:

  • Verify the accuracy of the new sales data
  • Re-establish mapping on the Sales Mapping page if you export sales to accounting
  • Set up your PMIX mapping again (we offer PMIX mapping services if you’d like help!)
  • Complete labor mapping for your new POS, if applicable
