Adjusting Your Settings
Before exporting, check how your integration is configured. Go to Settings > Connected Data (or Setup > Integrations) and click Edit Configuration next to your accounting system. You’ll see dropdown menus that control how Garde syncs with QBD. These settings can be configured separately for Orders (invoices), Sales Entries (daily sales journals), and Inventory Entries (inventory adjustments). Click any dropdown to choose your preferred sync option. Because QBD requires the Web Connector to transfer data, these options work a bit differently than they do with QuickBooks Online:- All Available — As soon as Garde finishes processing an invoice, pulls sales entries from your POS, or you post an inventory adjustment, those transactions are automatically set to pending status. They’ll export the next time you run your Web Connector.
- Only Selected Invoices — Transactions appear on your export page, but only the ones you manually select in Garde will export when you run the Web Connector. Your Garde reports update immediately regardless.
- Pause Temporarily — Nothing exports to QBD until you pick a different option.
Running the Web Connector
You need to run the Web Connector every time you want to sync Garde and QuickBooks Desktop. Once you’re comfortable with the process, we recommend switching to the “All Available” setting so items are automatically queued and ready to go when you run it. To launch the Web Connector, open QuickBooks Desktop and go to File > Update Web Services. A few important things to keep in mind:- Leave “Auto-Run” unchecked. The Auto-Run checkbox should not be checked.
- One restaurant at a time. If you have multiple restaurants connected to Garde, make sure you’re signed into the correct Company File for the restaurant you’re syncing. Never check more than one box at a time when running Update Selected.
- Same goes for classes. If you use classes, only have one checked at a time.
