You can now modify your count sheet while taking inventory on the mobile app. That gives you the flexibility to:
  • Add new items on the fly that aren’t on your count sheet yet
  • Remove items you no longer carry
  • Move a product from one section to another (if you use Sheet to Shelf)
This replicates the “Config Mode” capability available on the web version of Garde. See How to Add/Remove Products While Taking Inventory - Using Config Mode. This is the mobile equivalent of “Config Mode” on the web version of Garde.
Permissions required. To edit count sheets from the mobile app, you’ll need the appropriate user permissions. If you tap the menu and don’t see the “Edit Count Sheet” option, your account likely doesn’t have edit access. Check with your Restaurant Admin or see What are the Different User Permissions in Garde? for details.

How to use it (step-by-step)

  1. Open the Garde mobile app and open an inventory.
  2. Tap the More menu (three-dot icon) in the inventory screen.
  3. Select Edit Count Sheet from the menu.
  4. The sheet enters “edit mode,” which means you won’t be able to record count values while editing.
    • Once you exit edit mode, you can resume counting as normal (same idea as Config Mode on the web — you edit items but don’t input counts).
    • If your count sheet is configured as Sheet to Shelf:
      • You can add a section, add an item, assign or move an item to a different section, or delete an item.
    • If your count sheet is configured as Auto by Category:
      • You can add a new item, and it will automatically land in the right section based on its category.
  5. When you’re done editing, save your changes and resume entering counts.

Notes and considerations

  • Sheet to Shelf: New items may temporarily land in a “New Products” section (depending on your setup) until you assign them to the right section.
  • Auto by Category: The system places new items into the correct category section automatically — no manual sorting needed.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

Q. Why can’t I enter a count while in Edit Count Sheet mode?

A. Editing and counting are kept separate on purpose. This prevents counts from being entered for items that might get removed or shifted around. Finish your edits, exit edit mode, and you’re back to counting.

Q. I added an item but I don’t see it in the section I expected.

A. In Auto by Category mode, items are placed based on their category assignment — so check there first. In Sheet to Shelf mode, new items may go into a “New Products” section until you move them manually.

Q. I removed an item but I already entered a count. What happens?

A. If you remove an item that already has a count, that count won’t be recorded. Best practice: make your structural edits (add, remove, move items) before you start entering counts when possible.

Q. Who can edit the count sheet on mobile?

A. You’ll need the appropriate user permissions. See What are the Different User Permissions in Garde? for the full breakdown.
