The Garde Admin is the highest permission level in Garde. If you have this role, you automatically get access to everything in the software — labor data*, payments, accounting, the works. You won’t need any add-on roles because this one covers it all.

What Garde Admins Can (and Can’t) Do

Garde Admins can manage permissions for every user in their restaurant. That said, they cannot change another user’s email address or password. If someone forgets their password, a Garde Admin can trigger a “Force Password Reset” to help them get back in.

Who Should Have This Role?

Give the Garde Admin role to owners or anyone who genuinely needs access to all data across your restaurants. There’s no limit on how many Garde Admins a restaurant can have, but keep it tight — the fewer people with full access, the better your data security.
Garde Admin vs. Restaurant Admin — what’s the difference? Restaurant Admin gives broad access to operations (orders, vendors, inventory, recipes, setup) but leaves out accounting and labor. If someone doesn’t need to see financials or labor data, Restaurant Admin is usually the better fit. Reserve Garde Admin for owners, controllers, and anyone who truly needs the full picture.

How to Get the Garde Admin Role

Ask an existing Garde Admin in your restaurant to assign it to you. To see who currently holds the role, go to Setup > Users and review the permissions column. If nobody in your restaurant has the Garde Admin role and you need access, reach out to contact@garde.app. *Labor data in Garde is available for select POS systems.
