Overview

You can take inventory counts straight from your phone. Walk the restaurant, count as you go, and enter everything from the palm of your hand. No clipboard required. The mobile app doesn’t have every feature the web app has, but it handles the core counting workflow well. Below you’ll find a quick FAQ followed by step-by-step instructions.
Update your app first. Before counting day, make sure everyone on the team has the latest version of the Garde app installed. Outdated versions can cause sync issues or missing features. A quick check in the App Store or Google Play takes 30 seconds and saves headaches.

How many users can enter counts on a Count Sheet at a time?

Same rule as the web app — only one person can count on any specific count sheet at a time, whether they’re on a phone, tablet, or computer. Two people in the same sheet means overwritten data and an incorrect count.

Can I start a new count on the mobile app and complete it on the web app?

Yes. Start a count on your phone, save it, and finish or edit it on the web app whenever you’re ready.

Can I start an inventory and finish it later? Will it save my progress?

Absolutely. Your work is saved as you go. Even if you close the app entirely, your counts will be there when you come back. Just note that once you “Close” an inventory, you can’t reopen it from the mobile app.

Can I change the date of an inventory?

You can change the date before or during a count, but not after it’s been closed.

Can I make changes to a Count Sheet or reopen it from the mobile app?

Count sheet edits and reopening closed sheets both need to go through the web app. The mobile app is focused on counting.

What details will I be able to see about an old Count Sheet?

On mobile, you can see when a count sheet was last counted, but not the full details of past counts.

Steps for a Mobile Inventory

  1. Open the Garde mobile app and tap More from the bottom menu bar, then select Inventory.
  1. If you have a saved inventory in progress, it’ll appear at the top — tap it to pick up where you left off. Otherwise, tap the blue Enter a New Count button.
  1. Select the Count Sheet you want to use.
  2. Select the appropriate Inventory date.
  3. To find products, you can either:
    1. Use the search bar to quickly jump to a specific item, OR
    2. Tap a category to open it and work through the products listed.
  1. When you’re ready to enter a number, the input screen has a built-in calculator. Know the total? Just type it in. Need to do some quick math? The tools are right there.
  1. Use the back arrow at any time to return to the previous screen.
  2. The button at the top says SAVE — use this if you want to come back later for edits. The button at the bottom says Save and Close. That officially closes the inventory, and nobody can reopen it from the mobile app.
  3. Made a mess of things? Hit the trash can icon to scrap the count and start fresh.
